London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week has had a bit of a rough time over the past few years.  Major brands decamped, moving to shows to Paris or London.  The weakest of the “Big Four” fashion week cities looked on the brink of going to second tier status.  Once royalty came to catwalk events, then LFW seemed on the brink of irrelevant on the calendar.  To turn things around, in 2025 Lauren Weir came aboard to revamp the event with a much-needed recharge.

What makes London’s fashion scene different from the others is the out of the box approach to the fashion world.   It is the least commercial compared to New York, Milan and Paris.  There is a wide appreciated space for the unusual.  Designers can be impractical, inspired by the idiosyncratic.  Ensembles can be teamed with any detail from funny to political.   Streetwear can go with a floral print and red socks.
