Closing in on a global box office gross of $500 million, The Devil Wears Prada 2 moved into the blockbuster arena. The sequel to the 2006’s surprise hit with Meryl Streep, Anna Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci rode a wave of the public’s interest of the inner workings of the fashion industry. After a few weeks and hundreds of reviews, who cares about long opinion now? However, the insider cameos are fun.

My overall impression of the film: fun, topical, hitting all the challenges facing modern media comedy as journalists grapple with a sense of day-to-day employment anxiety. The male talent came across as decapitated, while the script felt stiff under pressure of living up to expectations trying to deliver more one liner zingers than a cohesive plot. I give The Devil Wears Prada 2, 3 stars out 5.
