Traveling on the Autobahn 70 near Bamberg heading to Erlangen there are curious towers pushing up beyond the trees from the historical Seehof Palace. The 17th century residence sits in the middle of 21 hectares with a large garden and pond.
The Rococo style palace took eleven years to build. In 1695 the Prince-bishop of Bamberg used the stately home as his summer residence. Over time there were many additions.
The Wurzburg Residence is a UNESCO Heritage World Heritage Site located in the center of Wurzburg. With over 300 rooms the “Residence” is a splendid example of Baroque Architecture. Balthasar Neumann’s 1720 grand plan took sixty years to complete for the Prince -Bishops of Wurzburg.
Highlights include the White Room, The Grand Staircase and walk in the Garden. Forty rooms are open for public viewing.
The New Residence is an example of splendour in the Franconia city of Bamberg. Sitting on a hill overlooking the region, the 40 state rooms housed in the Rococo designed palace are rich visual gems.
