On the cinema and fashion front, Love Patrick, the story of African American fashion designer Patrick Kelly. The Mississippi born became the toast of Paris by making sexy, sleek and colourful looks for the celebrities and models. After becoming the first American member of the FHCM in Paris, Kelly’s reputation and success grew styling Madonna to Grace Jones with expressive print and color looks. The sad part of this story is a life cut short by AIDS. Kelly died in 1991 at the age of 35. Swept under the carpet by the industry and society, the Vicksburg native was forgotten.
