Arriving in the middle of a hot June day in Chioggia, the island town closed for the afternoon break. My first impression was not favourable. The rustic buildings, stone brick roads looked a bit worn under the Italian blazing sun. However, in the early evening, the 50.000 persons watery hamlet becomes totally enchanting. Bars, cafes, restaurants open along the canals, suddenly, Chioggia becomes a place that could inspire romantic tales.
