When a relationship is never going to be on the right track, it is time to let it go. For some reason the Berlinale rejected our request to cover the film festival while allowing others with agendas to bring it all down. We tried! But bruised egos of government workers with artistic pretensions are more important than cinema coverage.
All is not forgiven on the other side. Therefore, why bother asking again? The 76th edition will be the last time we request accreditation for the film festival. It is better to move forward without wasting time on both sides. Thankfully, there are other film and media events we will happily cover, talking to filmmakers and creatives. As far as covering titles unspooling in Potsdamer Platz, not sure. February 2027 is a year away.
