Berlin in the FallWarschauer Straße Station

Compact cameras have become popular, a resurgence is happening with young buyers.  For a generation using smartphones for photography, this is a curious technology trend.  I got the AgfaPhoto Realishot DC5200 digital compact camera.  On a cloudy fall Sunday in Berlin, I took the camera around the neighbourhood for some shoots.

Using the basic modes, I set the Metering Mode on Center, the Color Effect on Standard and kept it in the Auto ISO Mode.

Wanting to be a bit creative for the second test, I set the menu profiles on Scenery and Cloudy White Balance, Vivid Color Effect, Multi metering Mode and ISO 100.

The battery life is not optimal. I learned to turn off the DC5200 when I was not aiming for a shot. Total recharging time was almost 3 hours. There is a three bar battery indicator on the screen. The 2.4 inch LCD for focusing is a plus. With 21 MP AgfaPhoto’s Realishot resolution is more than enough for social media postings or other content production. The plastic body and lens cover are simple to the point. Priced at 55 euros, the expression “You get what you pay for” applies. Being nervous about the battery, I reframed from using the 8X digital zoom or flash.

During the trail test I also used the Sepia and Monochrome settings as well as the HD video feature. I will post those pictures and videos in the future.

The best thing, I liked sling the small camera in and out my pocket.

Do not expect Richard Avedon quality photos using the Realishot DC5200. Just have a bit of fun at the moment with the camera.
