Not a sigh of relief but applause of bravo for Chanel. The debut collection from new head Matthieu Blazy hit the runway inside the Palais to a packed audience anxious to see how would the Paris born designer would interpret looks from the one of the most prestigious fashion houses in the world.

It is safe to write after looking over the seventy-six designs went down the runway on Monday. As the fourth creative head of Chanel, Blazy had a lot on his shoulders. Following Lagerfeld, then Virginie Viard’s lackluster years, the 115-year house clearly needed fresh ideas while staying true to a distinct fashion finery.
The former Bottega Veneta head had great success leading the Italian label to commercial relevance in the industry. Instead of being weighed down, Mathieu embraced Chanel’s long history of suits, midi skirts mixed with florals, geometric prints and soft feminine looks came across with modern jazzed up fervor.
